Returning to the Heart: A Journey into Anahata and Inner Wisdom
My journey has been, more than anything, a return to the heart.
For many years, I searched for clarity in my thoughts. I turned to logic, intellect, and the mind’s endless capacity to analyse, organise, and explain. But the more I tried to figure life out with my mind alone, the more I felt like I was missing something deeper — something quieter, yet far more profound.
It wasn’t until I began to soften, to surrender, and to listen inwardly, that I discovered where true guidance lives: in the heart.
The heart — not only as a physical organ but as a sacred centre of spiritual intelligence — holds a knowing beyond words. In yogic and Ayurvedic philosophy, this space is known as the seat of Anahata Chakra.
Anahata means "unstruck." It refers to the sound that arises without contact — a resonance that exists beyond the noise of the world. It’s subtle. It’s sacred. And it’s always present when we slow down enough to feel it.
In the heart space, we find the bridge between the earthly and the spiritual. It is the meeting point between body and spirit, self and other, the individual and the divine.
From a scientific perspective, the heart generates the largest electromagnetic field in the body, radiating far beyond the physical chest. This field responds to our emotional state and directly influences the brain. When we breathe slowly and deeply, sit in stillness, and meditate with intention, we cultivate something called heart-brain coherence. This coherence allows us to move through life with more calm, clarity, and connection.
When the heart leads, the mind follows — not with confusion, but with purpose.
This shift is not just poetic. It’s real. And it’s transformative.
Heart-centred living doesn’t mean we abandon the mind. It means we align the mind with something deeper — with the intelligence of love, truth, and unity.
So today, I invite you into a small practice:
Place your hand gently on your chest. Breathe slowly and consciously. And ask yourself: What do I know here... that my mind may have forgotten?
This simple moment of pause can be a gateway to profound awareness.
The path of the heart is not always easy. It asks us to feel deeply, to love fiercely, and to live with integrity. But in my experience, it is the most rewarding path there is — one that continues to unfold, guiding me step by step into more spaciousness, more presence, and more truth.
From my heart to yours ❤️
